George Walker Bush was born on July 6, 1946 in New Haven, Connecticut.

Fact 2
Bush graduated from Yale University with B.A. in History. He was a member and president of the Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity and also a member of the Skull and Bones secret society.

Fact 3
Bush has an M.B.A degree from Harvard Business School and he is the only President of the U.S to have an M.B.A degree.


Fact 4
Bush was also the Governor of Texas for two terms, from 1995 to 2000. During his tenure Texas became the leading producer of wind-powered electricity in the U.S and passed a state law which made it mandatory for the residents, to buy a certain amount of energy from sources which are renewable.

Bush's presidency was in a period when America was hit by recession, terrorist attacks which had a severe impact on the economy, and the 'dot-com bubble' mania.

Fact 6
In 2002 Bush announced the Clear Skies Act of 2003 which was an amendment to the Clean Air Act and aimed at reducing air pollution and also restricting the use of emissions trading programs.

Fact 7
Bush used his 'veto power' for the first time, to veto the Stem Cell Research Act, in the year 2006.

Fact 8
After the September 11, 2011 attacks Bush issued orders for the authorization of the 'Presidents Surveillance Program' which gave NASA the permission to monitor any and all communications that take place between those suspected to be terrorists.

Fact 9
Bush narrowly escaped an assassination attempt in 2005, when Vladimir Arutyunian threw a live hand grenade on the podium at Freedom Square, on which Bush was giving a speech.

Fact 10
According to the Gallup poll, Bush is rated as one of the most inefficient presidents by American citizens, but this opinion has changed and turned to a positive note, after Bush left office.
