The actress was born in Nelsonville, Ohio to Barbara Keck Parker and Stephen Parker.

She comes from a family of eight children. This includes children from her mother’s second marriage to Paul Forste when Sarah was young. One of her brothers and one of her sisters are also actors.

One of her early ancestors was accused of being a witch during the Salem Witch Trials. Her name was Esther Elwell.

Religiously Miss Parker identifies the most with her father’s religion of Judaism.

This actress has won four Golden Globe Awards, and three Screen Actors Guild Awards, and two Television Emmy’s for her role in Sex in the City. She played the part of Carrie Bradshaw from 1998 until 2004.

Parker had a longstanding relationship with Robert Downey Jr but eventually his drug problem caused them to separate.

Fact 7
In 1997 she married Matthew Broderick. The couple met working at the Naked Angels theater company.

The couple has three children. Their son, James Wilkie was born in 2002 and named after his paternal grandfather. In 2009 their twin daughters were born via a surrogate mother. The twins were given middle names that are traditional in their maternal grandmother’s family.

The family resides in New York City. They do have a second home located in Ireland that they spend a large amount of time at.
