Alfred Kinsey was born on June 23, 1894 in Hoboken, New Jersey.

Fact 2
Kinsey graduated in 1912 as valedictorian of his high school class. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in biology and psychology in 1916 from Bowdoin College.

Fact 3
In 1920 Kinsey received a doctorate degree in biology from Harvard University. He accepted a job as an assistant zoology professor at the University of Indiana in Bloomfield.

From 1926 to 1929 Kinsey took field trips all over the country with his students.

Kinsey decided to apply the principles of scientific research towards the topic of sexual behaviors and launched a sex studies program in 1938.

Fact 6
In 1937 he was listed as a starred scientist by ĎAmerican Men of Science'. In the early 1940ís Kinsey procured funding from the National Research Council and the Rockefeller Foundationsí Medical Division.

In 1947, Kinsey and his research assistants became incorporated under the name the Institute for Sex Research, Inc.

Fact 8
Kinsey published his first book Sexual Behavior in the Human Male in 1948.

Fact 9
The book sold close to 500,000 copies. He used the royalties to conduct more research and came out with a sequel called Sexual Behavior in the Human Female in 1953.

Fact 10
Kinsey died at the age of 62 on August 25, 1956 in Bloomington.
