Julie’s father was a theater director and her mother was an actress. Both her parents were also involved in underground theatre, thus providing Julie with an early introduction to the arts.
Having moved to the United States in 1990, she finally became an American citizen in 2001.
Julie is an alumnus of the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, and she has written, directed and acted in well over 30 films.
Julie’s film debut came in 1984 when she was just fourteen. Director Jean-Luc Godard discovered her and cast her in his 1985 film Détective.Fact 5
